Ayinla Omowura, a renowned Apala musician who died more than 40 years ago, was mysteriously killed. Popular broadcaster Kasnaty Kolawole Adejojo has now provided fresh insight into the case following a four-year investigation.
Challenging the long-held belief that Omowura was killed by a bottle strike, Kasnaty’s research reveals a more intricate and tragic cause of death. His findings are based on interviews with Omowura’s family, band members, and spiritualist Pa Ilelabewe Adisa, who played a crucial role in the events leading to the musician’s demise.
As an ardent follower of Omowura, began his research during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said to PLATFORM TIMES that what started out as a simple curiosity turned into a thorough inquiry that turned up information never before known.
According to Kasnaty, Omowura’s spiritualist Pa Ilelabewe prepared a protective charm in the form of a ring, designed to protect the musician from harassment during performances. However, the ring ultimately caused Omowura’s death when he used it to strike himself during an altercation.
Pa Ilelabewe explained that the ring was so powerful that it would cause instant collapse, but Omowura could have revived himself by touching his left leg, where three protective incisions had been made. Tragically, Omowura failed to use the antidote.
Kasnaty’s revelation resolves the mystery surrounding Omowura’s death, adding a personal dimension to the tragedy. His research also sheds light on lesser-known aspects of the musician’s life and family.
Through his groundbreaking investigation, Kasnaty becomes the first broadcaster to publicly disclose the true cause of Ayinla Omowura’s death, ensuring that future generations understand the full story of Omowura’s life and untimely death.
